Who We Are

Shipley & Associates is staffed by dozens of highly experienced discovery consultants, document specialists, and public relations executives. Our ranks include a former special agent for the Criminal Investigation Division of the IRS, a former analyst for Naval Signal Intelligence, as well as a number of attorneys, litigation paralegals, and ex-journalists.

GEORGE SHIPLEY
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. George Shipley, the firm’s founder, is a former Congressional fellow of the American Political Science Association, and he served as special assistant to Senator Lloyd Bentsen and national strategist for the 1988 presidential campaign of Vice President Al Gore. He was named one of “The Most Influential Texans” by Texas Monthly magazine and as “Leading Consultant” by The Quorum Report, the state’s oldest political newsletter. Born in Houston, George received his B.A. from the University of Virginia, attended graduate studies at Harvard University, and earned his doctorate at The University of Texas at Austin.

KELLIE GOOLSBY
President

Kellie Goolsby joined Shipley & Associates in 2004 after moving to Austin from Washington, D.C. Kellie is responsible for managing all aspects of the litigation support department, including document management projects, electronic discovery, strategic research for litigation, personnel, and technology. Kellie has a law degree from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. from Fordham University. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

DALTON YOUNG
Chief Operating Officer

Dalton Young specializes in providing research and litigation support solutions for clients in high-stakes litigation. She received her B.A. from Washington and Lee University and her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. Prior to attending law school Dalton worked in London in the securities section of a large global law firm. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

ERIC WETZEL
Communications Director

Eric Wetzel manages the firm’s communications department and serves as public affairs consultant to a range of corporate, political, and legal clients. He coordinates public relations campaigns and related research projects, creates communications products for both print and the web, and serves as spokesman on behalf of clients in litigation and other high-conflict environments. Eric’s background is in print journalism, and before beginning work at Shipley & Associates he served as a reporter and editor at a number of magazines. He also has experience in the legal field, having worked as a paralegal at a law firm that specializes in insurance defense. Eric received his B.A. from Trinity University.

ALISON ROSS
Research Associate

Alison Ross works as one of the firm’s key researchers, and she brings to the table years of experience managing complex political and legal research assignments. Her specialties include detailed opposition reports for political campaigns, corporate and witness backgrounders for clients in litigation, and foreign-based research. Alison received her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.

CHANTELLE WALLACE
Communications Associate

Chantelle Wallace assists the firm with media relations and research assignments. Her background includes public relations for both state and private agencies, reporting for a newspaper and magazine, and volunteer work in developing nations. She received her B.A. from Pepperdine University and her M.A. from The University of Texas at Austin.

DOUG STUART
Information Design

Doug Stuart oversees the firm’s information architecture with the goal of making data easy to find and understand for both Shipley’s staff and clients. To this end, he designs products that are accessible, dynamic, and simple to use. His work also involves the creation of both web-based applications and print documents that focus of visualizations of information and with research of all manner of subjects from competitive intelligence to witness backgrounders. Doug received a Masters in Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
